This classic American meatloaf is the ultimate comfort food, perfect for family dinners. Made with ground beef, breadcrumbs, and a tangy glaze, it’s hearty and delicious. Serve with mashed potatoes and green beans for a complete meal.

Start by preheating your oven to 350°F. In a large bowl, combine 2 pounds ground beef, 1 cup breadcrumbs, 1/2 cup milk, 1 finely chopped onion, 2 eggs, 2 cloves garlic (minced), 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce, 1 teaspoon salt, and 1/2 teaspoon black pepper. Mix gently until just combined.

Shape the mixture into a loaf and place it in a greased baking dish. For the glaze, whisk together 1/2 cup ketchup, 2 tablespoons brown sugar, and 1 tablespoon mustard. Spread half over the meatloaf.

Bake for 1 hour, then spread the remaining glaze on top and bake for another 10 minutes. Let rest for 10 minutes before slicing. Enjoy!

Southern Baked Mac and Cheese

Preheat oven to 375°F. Cook 1 pound elbow macaroni according to package directions; drain. In a large saucepan, melt 4 tablespoons butter over medium heat. Whisk in 1/4 cup all-purpose flour and cook for 1 minute. Gradually whisk in 2 cups whole milk and 1 cup heavy cream. Cook, stirring, until thickened, about 5 minutes.

Remove from heat and stir in 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar, 1 cup shredded Monterey Jack, 1/2 teaspoon salt, 1/4 teaspoon black pepper, and a pinch of cayenne. Add the cooked macaroni and stir to coat. Transfer to a greased 9×13 baking dish. Top with 1 cup panko breadcrumbs mixed with 2 tablespoons melted butter.

Bake for 25-30 minutes, until bubbly and golden. Let cool for 10 minutes before serving. This dish is best enjoyed fresh but can be reheated. For extra flavor, add crumbled bacon or diced jalapeños.
